She is the first Korean-built ship in Greek service, ordered by Strintzis Lines at Daewoo yards as “Superferry Ithaki”. Launched instead as “Blue Star Ithaki”, she was intended to serve the Cephalonia connections from Killini, then Blue Star decided rightly to put her on Rafina - Syros - Paros - Naxos - Santorini line. From December 2000 the daily service to Paros, Naxos and Santorini left Rafina for Piraeus, passing also via Syros and Ios two times a-week. She sailed that line until the arrival of two new Daewoo ships, then “Blue Star Ithaki” was moved on a new line connecting Piraeus to the nothern Cyclades: Syros, Tinos, Mykonos, Paros and Naxos, substituting on wintertime the “Superferry II” on Rafina Line.
