AKER FINNYARDS The site of the merged Finnish yards Aker Finnyards and Kvarner Masa. Among her “creations” we can find  Superfast III / IV”, the “HSS” vessels of Stena Line, various cruise vessels and the fantastic “Color Fantasy”, the biggest cruise-ferry in the world.

 

AUSTAL One of the two Australian fast ferries builders, based in Fremantle and parent of Highspeed 2 / 3 / 4 / 5.

 

FINCANTIERI All the Italian Yards in a site! Some names? Grand Princess, Disney Magic, Rotterdam, Knossos Palace, Nuraghes, Costa Fortuna, Seacat, Tor Selandia, Taurus, Costa Romantica, Pride of Hull…

 

HDW - HOWALDTSWERKE DEUTSCHE WERFT In my opinion all the websites of ship yards should be like this site: complete, very clear and rich of photos.

 

INCAT The other Australian fast ferry builder, based in Tasmania and holder of Trans Atlantic record crossing.

 

MEYER WERFT PAPENBURG The site of famous yards Jos. L. Meyer in Papenburg is very complete!

 

MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES In my opinion one of the best shipping yard in the world, a big pity anyway their small website.

 

NUOVI CANTIERI APUANIA I’ve nicknamed them as “Ferrari among shipbuilders”: they are the authors of GNV vessels.

 

SAMSUNG Yes, they are also shipbuilders… the authors of Minoan Lines ferries “Prometheus”, “Oceanus” and “Ariadne Palace”. And they have also a project for a 29-knot 2000 passengers cruise ferry…

 

SSW BREMERHAVEN One of the most active German yards with another fantastic website.

 

PORT AUTHORITY SITES

 

PORT OF BARI A good website for the southern Italy port. Ferry sailings to Bar, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Durres, Igoumenitsa and Patras.

 

PORT OF GENOA Probably the best port authority website, with a fantastic “ships in port” overwiewing page. Ferry sailings to Arbatax, Barcelona, Bastia, Caralis, Malta, Olbia, Palau, Porto Torres, Tangier, Tunis.

 

PORT OF PIRAEUS Not so complete, but fitted also with timetables of sailings. Ferry sailings to Cyclades, Crete, Dodecanese, North Aegean and Saronikos islands.

 

PORT OF TALLINN Another fantastic website of a port, with also a webcam. Ferry sailings to Helsinki, Marienhamn, Rostock, Stockholm, St. Petersburg.

 

 

DEDICATED SITES

 

CRUISEFERRY A very interesting site containing informations about Silja and Viking Line Ferries, plus some cruise ships. There is also a memory page dedicated to Euroway.

EFOPLISTIS The website of a Greek monthly shipping magazine, with photos and articles from their pages. Very good, if you can understand it (lucky you): is all in Greek!

FAKTA OM FARTYG Probably the best shipping site on the web; you can find here almost every ship who sails the seven seas! Unfortunately is only written in Swedish.
