One of the last introductions in G.A. Ferries fleet, was built in 1995 for the GrenaaHunderstedt link named “Kattegat”. The following year she changed her name (Berlin Express) and was put on GedserRostock line, first with DSB colours, then with the most notorious livery of Scandlines, which was her company until 1999. On that season she left the cold Baltic seas for the sun of Tenerife, when she linked Tenerife and La Gomera under charter for Trasarmas; however, the service was not very successfull, so at the end of charter the ship was back to Scandlines, which was able to sell her to G.A. Ferries in 2000 as “Express Ionion”. As long as MFD has acquired the 46% of G.A. Ferries, the ship gained a MFD licence for the line PatrasCephaloniaIthaki and the board of G.A. Ferries decided to rename and repaint the ship in a look which is much more familiar to the HFD’sHighspeed” rather than to “Rodanthi”, “Daliana” or “Dimitroula”, challenging with the traditional Cephalonia operator, Strintzis Lines. However Blue Star Ferries continued to have the dominant position on this market, probably because of the not so excellent seakeeping qualities rumoured about “Jet Ferry 1”, so since 2002 summer the ship is engaged on a link between Agios Konstantinos, Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos.
