2007 ??????
NorTH Adriatic SEA
At this moment,
weve not any official timetable, anyway I would like
to try imagining the 2007 timetables of the companies serving Greece. In my opinion Anek Lines
would deploy back to Venice
the Lefka Ori,
Kriti II and Sophocles V.; as long as I dont
know anything about a renewal of the El. Venizelos
charter to Co.Tu.Nav., which expired in 2006, so ANEK could offer also six
sailings on peak times. This way could bring ANEK to the leadership on Venice market, because Minoan Lines, after the surprising
sale of the Ariadne
Palace, has only Ikarus Palace and Pasiphae Palace, which could hardly
make more than four weekly departures. The only escape could be a sailing only
to Corfu and Igoumenitsa.
In Porto Marghera then, I think well surely find Hellenic
Seaways Cargo and their ro/ro Nave Trailer
and Cielo Trailer sailing to Corinth. Its possible
also the deployment of a third ro/ro, even if I could
exclude that it would be the Ocean Trailer. Instead the Anek Cargo
service should depend by the one of Anek Lines to Venice.
ANCONA
Draw the 2007
timetable from Ancona
is at the same time easy but impossibile. The easiest
solution is to consider all the 2006 timetables as reconfirmed for the
following season, so Anek Lines with Olympic
Champion and Hellenic Spirit, Minoan Lines with Olympia Palace
and Europa Palace and the four high speed
vessels of Superfast Ferries Superfast V,
Superfast VI, Superfast XI
and Superfast XII. The mystery anyway, aroses Superfast: many voices are
indicating that one of the four Ancona vessels will
replace the Superfast X at Rosyth,
probably one of the HDW-built vessels; some other rumours are indicating the
whole company up for sale, some others again the end of Superfast
operations and the sale of the four remaining vessels to a Greek competitor. Lets see then!
BARI
Considering the
presence of the team Agoudimos Lines Endeavor Lines
as sure, with their splendid flagships Ionian King and Ionian Queen, same for Ventouris Ferries
with their stalwarts Polaris and Siren, the doubtful thing is
for Blue
Star Ferries. As long as Blue Horizon is also rumoured for the Rosyth Zeebrugge service of
Attica Enterprises we should not be sure about the future of Blue Star 1 on that line, especially now where
the company already runs two vessels to Rhodes.
BRINDISI
I think that the
starring partners at Brindisi for 2007 would be the Erotokritos
and the Elli
T. once more, under the colours respectively of Maritime
Way and Endeavor Lines.
I dont think that Maritime Way
will ever buy the famigerate new entry, so the
reasonable solution is a co-operation between the two operators in order to
serve daily Brindisi
and Patras. I think almost for sure the presence of Ionian Sky
of Agoudimos Lines serving the Brindisi Corfu Igoumenitsa
line; anyway Im not sure about no one of the 2006 competitors: the Ouranos is rumoured to be sold to Agoudimos
Lines, even If I think that if the company buys her, shell be deployed to
cover the Albania line rather than adding a second ferry to Greece; finally,
after the end of 35-years age limit for ferries on Greek domestic routes, a
comeback of the G.A. Ferriess vessels on Greek
services is far reasonable.
