During the Seventies the Norwegian shipbuilders Framnæs built a series of ten sister ro/ros, part of these for Tor Line, part for Union Steamship New Zealand, and one for the Government of Democratic Republic of Germany. This ship, built as the fourth of the series, was named “Tor Dania” and started its service for Tor Line around North Sea. From 1975 to 1978 was chartered out, linking Northern Europe (Wallhamn – Bremerhaven – Dunkerque) with Persian Gulf and India (Doha – Umm Said – Dubai – Abu Dhabi – Dammam – Karachi – Bombay). On September 1977 approached to Vlissingen yards to be lengthened by 26,7 metres (the length as built was 136,80 metres, which remained unchanged on some sisters; anyway that vessels were probably designed to be easily lengthened, as long as the best part of the series undergone that work and one of that was built already lengthened), back in service on Tor Line Northern Sea services in 1978 as “Tor Dania”. This situation remained almost unchanged until 1992, apart a short charter for Middle East service in 1978 and considering that she operated under Tor Lloyd marks from 1980 to 1983. In 1992 the ferry lost her name, due to the arrival in Tor Line fleet of a bigger and newer ship who got the “Tor Dania” name, so this one was first renamed “Tor Dan”, then in 1993 “Tor Hollandia”, receiving for the first time the name used by the passenger car ferry “Tor Hollandia” of 1967, the second ever ferry of the company’s history. In 1998 the company name changed to DFDS Tor Line, due to the Danish owner; the ferry continued its career under this brand until 2005, even if was sold in 2000 and chartered back. Renamed “Seahawk”, she came to Mediterranean sea in November 2005 to do the refitting work, then was bought by Halkydon Shipping, reflagged to Greece and started serving Ancona – Corinth line.
