As the best part of Greek landing crafts,
this ferry started her life in Ambelaki, Salamina island, in 1985 at Panagiotakis
yards; I don’t know anyway if there is any relation between the owner of the
yard snd Fast Ferries’s shipowner, which has the same surname. Named “Theologos P”, was deployed on Corfu – Igoumenitsa
line, a route where the best part of the ferries employed were landing crafts;
in 1999 was joined by an enclosed fleet-mate, the “Ekaterini
P”, and the company decided to look to another enclosed ferry to complete its
fleet, so the “Theologos P” was put for sale.
Replaced in early 2004 by the Japanese-built “Platitera”,
was sold to a Thassos-based company, which renamed
her “Panagia Thasou” and
rerouted the ferry to Keramoti – Thassos
line, where she still works under her original Fast Ferries colours.
