Alpha Ferries emerges with the deployment of its only ferry, the “Aqua Jewel”. The ship was designed as a cruise-vessel, then converted to a ferry and deployed since 2003 on Rafina – Andros – Tinos – Mykonos line, calling sometimes also at Paros. On 2005 the livery was changed to a darker blue, during the big refit carried on the ferry. On Summer 2007 also Naxos is scheduled between the port of calls; even if there were often rumours about an expansion of the company, these never materialized and Alpha Ferries stopped operations at the end of 2009, chartering out its only ferry.
