AGAPITOS LINES
Once time known as “Agapitos Bros”, name which gave
also origin to the “double A” mark on the funnels (Αδελθοι Aγαπιτου, which in Greek means “Agapitos Brothers”), in 1992 the
Agapitos decided to “divorce”: Kostas and Ioannis
established “Agapitos Express Ferries”, bringing to the new company the “Aigaion” and the “Express Olympia”, while Vassilis and
Antonis Agapitos changed the company name to “Agapitos Lines”. The company had
a great history below, serving also Rhodes via Crete, plus Brindisi – Greece
services until 1992, when Agapitos Brothers decided to separate their forces
and “Agapitos Express Ferries” was born. From that year until 1995 served the
lines Piraeus - Syros - Tinos - Myconos and Piraeus -
Paros - Ikaria - Fourni - Samos with their two
ferries “Golden Vergina” and “Naias
II”, then, by acquiring three ships in four years, she started to serve also
Naxos, Ios, Santorini, Anafi and other smaller
islands of Cyclades. In November 1999 all Agapitos ships were bought by Minoan
Flying Dolphins and company’s services ceased.
