It’s often very difficult to find accurate
information about small ferries like this; about the “Agapitos A.” I don’t know
neither technical specifications and builder, nor I’m sure if she was owned by
Agapitos since the beginning of her career, but I think so and I think she was
always used on Corfu – Igoumenitsa line. I can say,
however, that she appeared in an old Greek movie, “Η αρχόντισα και ο αλήτης”,
which should be as “The lady and the tramp” in English, where
she was pictured during her classic Igoumenitsa –
Corfu service; was then sold in 2003 to a Lebanese company and still seems in
service, even if since 2018 she serves across the Guinean Gulf under the new
name of “Chimba Express”. Unlike the common use on
Greek landing-crafts, the “Agapitos A” had the bow name written in Latin
characters instead of Greek characters.
