The “Espresso Livorno” was the first passenger vessel of the shipowner
Spiros Magliveras, which previously had a good
success as a freight operator. The ferry, delivered in 1973 by Orlando yards of
Leghorn, which had previously built all the freight vessels of the parent compant Traghetti del Mediterraneo,
was deployed on Leghorn – Olbia line. The service lasts only until 1976, when
the ship was chartered to Adriatica Navigazione of Venice. Even if the ferry maintained her
name, was repainted in Adriatica colours and deployed
on weekly sailings from Venice to Piraeus and then to Istanbul and Smirne or to
Limassol and Haifa, alternating the final part of the trip every week. In 1980
she passed to Adriatica, being renamed with the more
appropriate name of “Espresso Grecia” and deployed on Brindisi – Greece line
and later to Albania services, until her sale in 1999 to Halkydon
Shipping as “Grecia”. She was scrapped a decade later.
