The “Espresso Egitto” enters Adriatica fleet in 1980, after being
delivered to Trans Tirreno Express in 1974 as their “Espresso Cagliari”. Anyway
this ship served only a few trips for TTE: from June 1974 was chartered to
Adriatica, maintaining her original name. The first service performed for the
Venice-based company was the only Ancona – Greece ferry service of the
company’s history, the Ancona – Corinth – Heraklion, effected till December
1974; at that date the ferry was transferred to Venice – Egypt line, calling at
Piraeus and Heraklion enroute to Alexandria. Later the ferry called also at
